The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra has largely left the decision of reopening churches on the various local parishes.

However, as a guide to help them make their decision, Archdiocese of Accra has also added on to the general guidelines issued by the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Kofi Dzamesi.

In a long worded statement, the Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra and Apostolic Administrator of Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese urged the priests to adhere strictly to the guidelines provided if they choose to open their parishes.

“In deciding on this, Parish Priests are to work with their Parish Councils bearing in mind that the safety and well-being of parishioners override all other considerations,” he said.

Other churches such as International Central Gospel Church, Maker’s House Chapel and other churches have decided not to open any of their local branches.

Stay safe.
