Ghanaian student at Oxford University, Ebenezer Azamati grabbed headlines around the world when a video of him being abused at the Oxford went viral.

Ebenezer, who is blind was violently removed from an Oxford Union debate by bouncers.

The incident sparked outrage which led to the resignation of the President of the Oxford Student body, Brendan McGrath.

As the Black Lives Matter movement is championing protests after the murder of George Floyd, Ebenezer has joined students and alumni of Oxford University to campaign against global racism.

He fortunately survived the inhumane treatment he received and now he hopes to ensure that nobody experiences something similar.

Oxford alumnus Oluwafemi Nylander shared a video of students and alumnus of Oxford University speaking out against racism and calling for an end to racism.

Ghanaians, Afua Hirsch and Tetteh Kofi are also in the video.

“We want to use use our privileges as Oxford students to draw attention to anti-blackness across the world. Deaths in police custody happen in the UK as well and black people are overrepresented in those statistics,” Nylander told The Times.
