Ghanaian filmmaker Leila Djansi has asked people who make excuses for other’s racist experiences to stop.
Racism has become the hottest topic in the news in recent days after the death of George Floyd.
There have been a number of protests in major cities in the United States of America since Floyd, an unarmed African-American, died while being restrained by a white Minneapolis police officer on May 25, 2020.
The Black Lives Matter movement is also in full force as people all over the world are calling for justice over the death of George Floyd and other Black People who are suffering injustice.
According to Leila Djansi, “America is burning today” because of people who try to justify other’s racist experiences.
She, however asked them to keep quiet and stop making excuses for such people.
“Keep quiet and LISTEN. That’s all that’s required of you now. Listening. Not running your mouth making excuses for your group!” Leila Djansi stated.
