‘Unity Is Strength’: Liverpool Players Take A Knee To Support BLM Movement

Liverpool players today [Monday, June 1, 2020], took a knee around the centre circle of the Anfield stadium to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

All over the United States of America, protests are being held to seek for justice over the death of George Floyd.

George Floyd, an African-American man, died in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020, after a white police officer knelt on Floyd’s neck during an arrest.

Some Liverpool players including Virgil van Dijk, James Milner and Joe Gomez tweeted a photo of the team taking a knee around the centre circle of Anfield.

“Unity is strength #BlackLivesMatter” is how they all captioned their tweets.
