A number of churches are choosing the safety of their congregation over the need to gather in one physical place to worship God.

Following President Akufo Addo’s directive to partially reopen churches, some of the church leaders have chosen to remain closed as they monitor the management of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Some of the churches that have stated they would not be open come this Sunday June 7 are the Spiritual Revival Ministries, Destiny Empowerment Chapel Int and the Maker’s House Chapel International. Others are expected to reach decisions in the coming days.

“I deem it fit to announce to you that TMH (Destiny Arena) will remain closed for some time until we have clarity and the sanctions relaxed some more. I will entreat all of you to bear the church and its membership in prayer,” Dr Michael Boadi Nyamekye is reported to have said.

The Spiritual Revival Ministries has also released a statement signed by its General Overseer
Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun and said “the decision has been taken in the best interest of all our members.”

Dr Benard Taylor, the Senior Pastor at the Destiny Empowerment Chapel International also released a statement saying “we have our future and that of our children to protect. Let’s not die prematurely as a result of ignorance.”

Stay safe guys. Adhere to the coronavirus preventive protocols always!
