Last week Ghanaian musician, Mr. Drew saw his lastest released hit song titled “Eat” featuring Stonebwoy taken off from all streaming platforms including YouTube.
The song which had gained close to 150k views on YouTube was only pulled down due to copyright infringements.
Fans trolled Mr. Drew for stealing the song while others felt he was unprofessional in his dealings. Fans also dragged Stonebwoy and asked that he came out to clear the air.
According to Stonebwoy, “I reached out to him on Instagram and he said it was a cover. Then, I said ‘if it is cover just do what you have to do because people do covers”, he said in an interview with Hitz.
Stonebwoy said that he only worked on the song because of the love he has for young artistes, the need to see them do better.
The Highly Spiritual signee in a video took to Twitter to ask those trolling him to leave Stonebwoy out it.
According to Mr Drew he said, “I’m seeing blogs, I’m seeing news all over wrong news actually. And I want to say this, Stonebwoy did his verse, he blessed us with a verse on my cover song. Sent it to us, told us to do the right thing by contacting the originator of the song and my publisher failed to do that. So it’s our fault, please don’t drag Stonebwoy into this. If you want to bash me just bash me but don’t drag Stonebwoy, dont drag his management, don’t drag Stonebwoy as a brand and don’t drag BHIMnatives into this, Thank You”.
