The emPawa initiative is to equip African artists with the tools, knowledge, and network they’ll need for their careers. Mr. Eazi has announced emPawa’s move to help artists promote their video content using all of emPawa’s channels.
emPawa Africa is an initiative created with one simple mission: Helping new artists reach their full potential musically by equipping them with the knowledge and funding to do so.
Since the inception of emPawa, the likes of Ghana’s J.Derobie and Nigeria’s Joeboy have all become household names in the industry.
According to Mr Eazi, “emPawa Africa is something I wish someone had created when I first started making music. Sometimes all it takes is that one person to believe in you”.
In a tweet by Mr. Eazi, he explains to details how it works; “Starting July, you can submit your video to @emPawaAfrica and if it passes internal QC You can subscribe to either paying a 1time fee or % split. In return the video gets #empawaExclusive status including marketing along her platforms & submission to all our TV partners“
He also stated that they will start funding artists who are not on the emPawa list. “We shall also commence advancing non @emPawaAfrica Artists Video Funding. Meaning emPawa will pay for select music videos & recoup from an 80/20 – 70/30 split in your favour depending on artist tiering & video Budget!!!” he tweeted.
“The beautiful thing is that from June 1st we are launching a bespoke tech driven platform that lets all artists we invest in see where their rev is being made, how it is coming, how recoup is done & most importantly local payment receipt.” he added
This initiative will go a long way to help artists who are finding it difficult to acquire funding for their projects.
