The Ghana Police Service has disclosed that the gun that was used by Victor Stephen Nana Kankam, the landlord who shot and killed his tenant was legally acquired and registered through the due process.
“Police investigations have disclosed that the weapon used in committing the crime was legally acquired and registered through due process in 2007,” a statement signed by DSP Effia Tenge, the Head of Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service read.
The statement also indicated that the Accra Regional Police Command has taken over investigation of the case.
“The Accra Regional Police Command has taken over investigation into the alleged shooting and killing of a tenant by his landlord on Sunday 24th May 2020. The suspect, Victor Stephen Nana Kankam has been put before the Abeka District Court and remanded into police custody.”
The Police also assured the family of the deceased and the general public that it will conduct a diligent investigation into the case for justice to be served.
