Video: How Abedi Pele Helped Marseille Win The UEFA Champions League In 1993

27 years ago today, Olympique de Marseille became the first French club to win the UEFA Champions League, and it is important to note that Ghana’s football legend Abedi Ayew Pele played an instrumental role.

On May 26, 2020, Marseille beat AC Milan 1-0 at the Olympic Stadium to become the champions of Europe.

The winning goal was scored by Basile Boli, but the assist from Abedi Pele was the highlight of the game.

Abedi Pele delivered a sublime corner kick which was headed in by Basile Boli to win the game for Marseille.

The English Twitter account of Marseille posted a video of their Champions League triumph to mark 27 years since winning it.
