In honor of all front line workers, Private Hammond went on 14 miles in 7 days’ walk to raise funds to help countries in Africa fight the Coronavirus. With Private Joseph Hammond hoping to raise GH₵ 3 Million ($600,000) for frontline workers, he has been able to raise GH₵ 127,487.63.

Pte Hammond who was part of the WWII which ended 75years ago feels we are facing a different type of war against Covid-19, so he wants to contribute by walking to raise money to purchase PPEs for Frontline workers as well as other vulnerable veterans in Africa.

Private was joined during the week by some notable people including, United Kingdom (UK) Defence Advisor (DA) to Ghana Lt Col Alastair Mckechnie and his deputy Ssgt Joel Downham, Abeiku Santana, Nana Kwame Bediako,  British High Commissioner- Iain Walker, Dr Afua Asabea Asare-CEO GEPA, Actress Jocelyn Dumas, Matthew Mensah- Ghana Ambassador For Tourism To SA, Actors Prince David Osei, Van Vicker, Musician Okyeame Kwame, Debra-Jane Nelson Event planner at Think Mahohany Events and Founder of Zero Hunger Ghana, Ceo of Emy Awards Kojo Soboh and Dorothy Amuah.

 Private Hammond continues to urge people to donate to help his worthy course; “I see many people donating and I’m asking everybody for your little bit. Little water makes a mighty ocean so all of you must endeavor to do it. I’m doing this thing specially for the whole of Africa. So please, do your best to donate and continue donating so that everything will be successful.
