COVID-19: Prez Akufo-Addo Launches GH¢1 Billion Support Scheme For MSMEs

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo today, Tuesday, May 19, 2020, launched the GHC1 billion Coronavirus Alleviation Programme Business Support Scheme.

The scheme is aimed at giving financial support to Micro, Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ghana that have been seriously affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The scheme is being managed by the National Board for Small Scale Industries.

It is anticipated that the entire Scheme will attract about one hundred and eighty thousand (180,000) beneficiaries across the country.

President Akufo-Addo, however, urged all beneficiaries to use the funds received for the intended purpose, “so that, together, we can work to grow our economy once again.”

To be eligible for the support scheme, your business must be in the category of a micro, small and medium-scale enterprise, you must be a member of an association, trade group or NBSSI and you must also have a tax identification number.

Interested business owners can apply for the support scheme on the National Board for Small Scale Industries website.

The application portal will be live tomorrow, 20th May, 2020.
