
Sophia Addo, a 54-year-old nurse at the Ghana Manganese Company Hospital, has lost her life after testing positive for COVID-19.
The nurse was said to be a member of the team that participated actively in screening clients who attended the hospital.
She passed on 8th May after almost two days of showing symptoms of coronavirus.
Sophia was to have underlying health issues – asthma and hypertension.
This was revealed by the Western Regional Branch of the Ghana Registered Nurses And Midwives’ Association.
The statement added that the family had opted for a private burial on 30th May and that final funeral rites will be held after the ban on social gathering has been lifted.
