Passport Application Centres (PACs) across Ghana will resume operations on Monday, May 18, 2020.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, May 14, 2020.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration wishes to inform the General Public that the Passport Office will resume operation in all its centres across the country on Monday, 18th May 2020. The online application portal will be open for booking of appointments from Wednesday, 20th May 2020,” the statement read.
In March 2020, passport services within all the Passport Application Centers (PACs) in the country were suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, with the centres resuming, the Ministry has issued directives that applicants must comply with to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19.
- Applicants and official visitors alike must wear face masks and have their own personal hand sanitizers before the can be allowed entry into the centres.
- Applicants and official visitors will undergo temperature screening before they are allowed entry.
- Applicants and official visitors have to wash their hands at vantage points of the premises before they are allowed to enter the centres.
- Applicants and visitors have to adhere to strict social distancing measures at the centres.
