Here’s Stonebwoy’s Take On The Essien Vs Partey Debate

Stonebwoy is Ghanaian Afropop, dance hall and reggae singer

Stonebwoy has shared his views on a recent comparison of two great Ghanaian midfielders – Michael Essien and Thomas Partey – which transpired on social media.

Football fans on Twitter in the past week started a debate on who the better midfielder is between the two.

Stonebwoy, however, has advised Ghanaians not to compare both players, stating that it is not a good thing to do.

According to him, he believes Partey would not tolerate such a comparison.

He added that Essien is a legend and has achieved a lot in his illustrious career and young footballers like Partey are inspired by him.

“People should not make it look like Thomas is the one fueling this comparison, because Thomas is my brother, not of one blood but we are both from the same hood in Ashaiman and we are very close. I know he is respectful and humble and will not support such comparisons,” Stonebwoy said.

He went on to add that “Essien is a senior player while Partey, on the other hand, is new and representing Ghana as he is supposed to, so there’s no need comparing both players.”
