Lydia Forson is calling on all Africans to demand for a story published by Sky News to be taken down.

The article titled “Spiky coronavirus haircut growing in popularity in Africa – here’s why” talks about a hairstyle that looks like coronavirus and is being used to create awareness of the disease in Kenya.

Lydia Forson took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to call on Africans on the platform to demand for the article to be taken down, adding that it could affect little black children in the near future.

She wrote: “Dear All Africans in here, If we don’t let them take this down, this article will travel and when it does it will reach corners of the world we have no control. Soon little black children in school will have their friends pick on them for their hairstyle!! Make this STOP!”

Lydia Forson went on to talk about the hairstyle that was described in the article.

She also added photos of herself with the hairstyle.

“It’s called African Threading… ‘A traditional styling technique that goes back ages. For this technique, black thread is wrapped around strands of hair from just above the roots all the way to the ends,” she wrote.
