Nigeria’s Sinach Becomes First African To Top Billboard’s Christian Songwriters Chart


Nigerian Gospel singer, Sinach has become the first African to top Billboard’s Christian Songwriters chart.

She has been topping the chart for 7 weeks now.

Sinach revealed in a tweet that she has been number one on the chart for 7 weeks. She gave glory to God for attaining such a feat.

“So apparently We have been No 1 on billboard USA for Christian songwriter for 7 weeks!! Look at God!! First Black person 😳😳😳😳😳😳 First from Africa … So grateful to God!!”

Sinach tops the list ahead of musicians like Jason Ingram, Matthew West, Lauren Daigle, Chris Brown, Steven Furtick, Jeff Pardo, Paul Mabury, Hank Bentley and Ethan Hulse.

She is known for her hit songs including Way Maker, I know Who I Am and Great Are You Lord.

In March 2020, Sinach was honoured with a YouTube gold plaque for surpassing one million subscribers.
