Several people know OV music as the winner from the MTN hitmaker but what we do not know is, she almost did not take part in the life-changing competition.
OV had always wanted to entertain people and even though she knew she had a good voice and had just started thinking about exploring it as a career path, she was unsure about joining the MTN Hitmaker even though she was interested.
A couple of friends convinced her and with only minutes to spare to missing the deadline, OV found her way to the auditions and was selected to be a part of the competition.
” I went to audition but when I saw that Amakye the rapper was part, I said I won’t do it anymore because I knew he was very good but [laughs] I still did it and what happened at the finale, I never expected it.”

After Hitmaker, OV got introduced to a lady who linked her to Stonebwoy and that was how her relationship with Stonebwoy started.
Backtracking to her past…before all the fame, OV revealed to Kuulpeeps.com that she was more of a dancer than a singer.
“I used to dance a lot in church. I danced to dem urban gospel music and sometimes I sang in church too but, I was more popular as a dancer. Few people knew I could even sing and in Senior High school, everyone knew me as a dancer. I even have certificates for ‘Best Dancer'”
OV loved entertaining people and tried anything that would entertain people. She defied her parents’ wishes for her to become a lawyer or join the army because all she really wanted was to do, was entertainment but she wasn’t sure at the time exactly what she would do so she tried a lot of things.

“OV is entertainment. I love entertaining people. I love making them happy. I danced to entertain when I was younger, I even went into acting for some time and currently, I am doing what I do because I love to entertain. I am an entertainer”
OV is full of life and comes off as a very happy person which is why it comes as no surprise when she admitted that she fears nothing but herself and what she can become. She revealed that several things have changed her very much and the profound one is when she lost her brother in 2017.

Losing her brother just when she started to take music seriously hurt her a lot. She had just started learning to play the guitar from him when he passed away and she realized that just doing what she could on the guitar and creating music or just singing helped her deal with her grief better and take her mind off her pain.
“I was with my brother when he died. He wasn’t sick. He just died in his sleep. I was home alone with him and I went to ask him something…that’s when I realized he wasn’t breathing. I was just 18 then and it was just the two of us at home.”
She admits that losing her brother has had a lot of impact on her life and after what was a dark period for her…nothing can faze her as she’s seen it all.

She lives by the motto that life is too short and intends to live her best life as a young person.
“I’m young and I feel I can do everything! I just want to make good music and be recognized for being an entertainer”.
