Echo House Donates COVID-19 Relief Items To Ridge Hospital, Noguchi Memorial Institute

In celebrating and showing gratitude to our health workers on the front-line fighting the novel Coronavirus, Echo House Ghana Limited took the initiative to donate some COVID-19 relief items to the health workers of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge) and the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) on Friday 1st May 2020.

The company, with support from Wilmar Africa (Frytol) made some donations to these two Institutes. Some of the items included rice, cooking oil, soap, and spices.

With the day being Labour Day (May Day), the frontline health workers who are leading the case management of the pandemic were on duty hence the reason for the donation.

Presenting the items on behalf of Echo House Ghana Limited, Mr. Josua Delah said,”- On this day being May Day whiles the health workers are to be at home with their family, they are here saving lives. We will like to extend our support to the health workers at the frontline fighting the coronavirus.”

Accepting the items was Mr Simon Awog-Badek, Administrator on duty of the Ridge Hospital said, “On behalf of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital and the entire staff, we will like to express our heartfelt appreciation for this gesture. In fact you are doing it at a time that there’s a need  to boost the morale  of health workers and today being May Day your timing is just right and we duly acknowledge it.”

He also stated that Ghanaians should not doubt the presence of COVID-19 in Ghana and as Ghanaians, we should rally behind the President to fight it.

He also encouraged other corporate organizations to embark on these charitable gestures to boost the morale of our health workers.

At the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, Echo House Ghana Limited also made some donations to the Institute.

Mr. Theodore Matey Ahuno Medical Staff received the items on behalf of the Director of the institute. Accepting the items he said, “We are very grateful for this kind gesture. Just as we are trying to fight corona, with a strong immune system we are able to fight it well. As it said soldiers march on a very strong stomach. We once again want to thank you and these items will go a long way in helping the fight against the Coronavirus.”

He also urged Ghanaians to adhere to the precautionary measures and also educate people on the effects of the virus, “Physical distancing must be a must and the wearing of nose mask must be worn on a daily occurrence. We must make sure to wash our hands under running water with soap, in its absence use alcohol-based hand sanitizers. We must also take the initiative to educate our friends and colleagues on the effects of the Virus.

Communities in and around East Legon were not left out as these relief items brought smiles to many.
