Fourteen people have tested positive for coronavirus after the release of test results of 7,461 people whose samples were taken during an enhanced tracing and testing exercise.
The test results of the 7,461 samples are out of the total of 15,000 samples that were taken to be tested.
This was disclosed by the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah during a Covid-19 media briefing, today [April 7, 2020].
The results, according to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah represents 0.18% of the samples tested.
The Information Minister stated that the enhanced testing contributed to the enormous rise in Ghana’s total coronavirus cases.
Ghana has so far recorded 287 cases after 73 new cases were confirmed on April 6, 2020.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah also revealed that 26 people who are under mandatory quarantine tested positive in a second test after they initially tested negative.
These 26 people are part of the 73 new confirmed coronavirus cases.
