A Kenyan self-described youth activist, Silas Njura has made one of the biggest blunders of his activism career.
On Twitter Timeline, Silas is trying to expose Kenyan lecturers whom he believes are sexually harassing female students in exchange for grades.
Those of us in Ghana have had our fair share of this issue last year… Cue in.. Prof Ransford Gyampo and Dr Paul Butakor.
However, in one of Silas’ series of tweets of his expose campaign, he used the photo of Ghanaian award-winning sports journalist, Michael Oti Adjei and the award-winning Ghanaian News Anchor, Serwaa Amihere which accompanied a photo of a news headline saying “Sex-For-Grades Scandal at Mount Kenya University.”
The photo of the two Ghanaian media personalities was used to suggest that Michael is the lecturer and Serwaa is the student being sexually harassed.
It was after Ghanaians pointed out that it was wrong to use such a photo to accompany such a story when it had nothing to do with them that Silas took down his initial tweet.
