The Government of Ghana has established an Information Centre with 311 as the call number to provide real-time information to the public on matters related to COVID-19.
This is in addition to the 112 emergency number that must only be used to report suspected cases of Coronavirus.
The 311 helpline will also serve as a platform for receiving feedback from health workers on the distribution and availability of Personal Protective Equipment’s (PPEs).
This way, the government believes that information about the virus would become easily accessible. This would keep Ghanaians informed at all times and curb the spread of misinformation.
Part of the centre’s core beliefs is that “we are better when we stay in the know.”
This prevents speculation.
