Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei

The President of Accra Business School and Presiding Bishop of the Pleasant Place Church in Accra, Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei has been forced to withdraw his offer to the government to use his building as a coronavirus isolation centre.

Bishop Titi-Ofei had offered a 100-bed facility to the Tema West Municipal Health Directorate Dr. Obrempong Owusu, for the building to be used in the fight against the spread of coronavirus.

However, news just coming in indicates that Bishop Titi-Ofei has withdrawn the offer.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the Bishop said people living near his building have protested against his offer to the government.

“It has come to my attention the residents close to the facility I offered to the government to be used as part of our nation’s effort to fight covid19 are protesting against the decision,” he said in the statement.

“… in the spirit of god neighbourliness, I have decided to offer other forms of assistance in the fight against COVID 19,” the Bishop added.
