Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew has donated 4,000 hand sanitizers, 25 sets of handwashing bins, tissues among others to the Tamale Metropolis as his contribution to combating the COVID 19 outbreak in the country.
The items were distributed to bus terminals, Chiefs’ Palaces and some communities in the Metropolis.
Alhassan Abdul Razak, who made the donation on behalf of Dede Ayew, said the initiative was to support the less privileged and was also to educate the people on the coronavirus pandemic which is ravaging the world.
He indicated that the Swansea City winger believed that everyone has a responsibility to play in ending the spread of the virus.
He, therefore, asked residents to adhere to the precautionary measures preached by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
Mr Abdul Razak also promised that soap and hand sanitizers will be replenished until the pandemic is under control.
He further charged the managers of bus terminals to take care of the items and ensure that people utilise it to contain the spread of the virus.
