Many influential people in the world of football are aiding the the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Most of them are offering help through the donation of cash and preventive materials.
Black Stars head coach, C.K Akonnor has also joined the list of influential Ghanaians who are contributing to aid in the fight against COVID-19.
C.K Akonnor donated hand sanitizers to some street hawkers in Accra, to help curb the spread of the virus.
“The #COVID19 outbreak has brought the world to a standstill and yet together affects us all. I spent my afternoon today giving out hand sanitizers to some hawkers in the capital,” he tweeted.
He also advised Ghanaians to stay safe and healthy.
In implementing strict measures to curb the spread of the disease, President Akufo-Addo in an address to the nation on Friday [March 27, 2020] at 11:15 pm declared a partial lockdown of Accra, Tema and Kumasi for two weeks, effective Monday, March 30, 2020 at 1 am.
The call for a lockdown became necessary after Ghana recorded a monumental increase in Coronavirus coronavirus cases. As at the evening of March 27, 2020, Ghana recorded a total of 137 cases including 4 deaths and 2 recoveries.
