The Ghana Health Service has recalled all healthcare staff who had proceeded on study leave.
This comes as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases go up by the day.
President Akufo-Addo had earlier recalled all healthcare practitioners who had retired.
The increasing number of cases is requiring more hands on deck.
In a letter from the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye to all Regional Directors of Health Service, he said “all staff on approved study leave across all regions are therefore recalled from their leave with immediate effect.”
He said workloads have increased in the various facilities and that there is the “urgent need for all staff to be at post in order to support in the management of affected persons.”
