Government May Restrict Movement In Parts Of The Country

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

The Government of Ghana may place restrictions on movement in parts of the country.

This would form part of measures aimed at curbing the spread of coronavirus.

In an interview with Citi News, the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said “the government has been very proactive with coming up with measures to contain the situation.”

As the government now has the backing of the Imposition of Restrictions law, the minister said some of the new measures that would be put in place “may include some restrictions in some parts of the country but whatever will be done will be with the objective of ensuring that we totally negate the potential for community spread.”

In any case, the places that may experience the restrictions could be areas in the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions.

Ghana currently has 132 confirmed cases coronavirus with three deaths.
