Gov’t Yet To Confirm Arrival Of Jack Ma’s Coronavirus Prevention Materials

Dr Abiy Ahmed Ali, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia has announced that Ghana has received its coronavirus prevention materials that were donated by Alibaba founder, Jack Ma.

However, the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Health have not confirmed the arrival of the materials yet.

About two weeks ago, Jack Ma promised to donate coronavirus prevention materials such as face masks test kits and protective clothes to all African countries to help in fighting against disease.

Dr Abiy Ahmed in a tweet stated that Ghana, Gabon, Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo have received their share of the donation.

African countries that have already received their share of the donation include; Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, Rwanda, Eritrea, Djibouti, Sudan, Tanzania, Burundi, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Zambia and Togo.

“The 2nd shipment of the supplies from Jack Ma and Alibaba Group containing 540k medical-grade masks and 20k protective clothes is on its way to Ethiopia. Dispatch to Africa will continue,” he informed.

Ghana has so far recorded 53 cases and 2 deaths.
