US To Provide Repatriation Flights For All Its Citizens Living In Ghana

Due to the travel restrictions, Americans living in Ghana have found it difficult to leave the country, however, the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs is arranging repatriation flights for U.S. citizens who are having trouble leaving Ghana.

In a bid to get all US citizens out of countries with Coronavirus, the US is scheduling flights all around the world to get them safely home.

The official twitter account for the U.S Travel State Department posted: “#Ghana:  Those interested in being contacted if additional flights or repatriation flights to the US are scheduled, please send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Return Travel to the U.S.” and the information requested in the link.

There has not been an official response from the Foreign Affairs Ministry regarding the repatriation of US Citizens in Ghana, because the move by the US will defy the travel restrictions the President placed on all our borders.

On Sunday 22nd March 2020 President Akufo Addo announced the closure of all Ghana’s borders.

According to the President, the decision is to help reduce the further spread of the novel coronavirus in the country.

In the address, he said all the borders of Ghana – land, sea and air – will be closed down effective midnight on Sunday.
