Some Ghanaians who are currently under compulsory quarantine have complained about how they are being treated.
The government of Ghana in putting in place measures to curb the spread of coronavirus, issued a directive for every Ghanaian who arrives in the country to undergo compulsory quarantine, a move that enables health professionals to check and test for the virus before anyone is allowed to leave.
This initiative by the government has yielded results within a very short period. In a press briefing on Tuesday [March 24, 2020], the government announced that out of about 1,000 persons under quarantine, about 600 were tested and the test results of 185 of the 600 proved that 25 persons had the disease, taking Ghana’s total cases to 52.
In a video making rounds on social media, some of the persons under quarantine are seen complaining about the treatment being meted out to them. They claimed that they have just been left in their rooms and no test has been carried out on them yet to verify if they have the virus or not.
