One thing that is crucial in managing any crisis situation is establishing that one channel of communication that is updated regularly.

As part of efforts to manage information and avoid fear and panic in this crisis situation brought on us by the global spread of the novel coronavirus infection, the government created a microsite on the Ghana Health Service’s website.

This microsite was to provide updates on coronavirus infection situation in the country.

Though in many instances it has delivered, today it has not done so.

Especially on a day that the most cases recorded in a single day were announced, the official website remains outdated.

It has been four hours (as at the time of filing this report) since the 25 new cases were confirmed at a press conference held by the Ministry of Information.

The situation report on Ghana’s COVID-19 response website as at the time of filing this report.

This 25 new cases brought Ghana’s coronavirus case total to 52 with two deaths.

However, on the website, we still have the old numbers indicating 27 confirmed cases as against the 52 confirmed cases as at the time this report was filed.
