Ghana Coronavirus Update: 24 Confirmed Cases So Far

Ghana has recorded another case of coronavirus.

This makes 24 as the total confirmed cases, though only 23 are active cases. One of the patients reportedly passed away yesterday.

In a statement, the Ghana Health Service said as the 2 pm today, “a total of 315 suspected cases have been tested for COVID-19 by Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) and Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR).”

“Twenty-four (24) of these have been confirmed at the laboratory as COVID-19,” the statement added.

“Among the confirmed cases, seventeen (17) are of Ghanaian nationality and seven (7) other nationals namely: Norway, Lebanon, China, France, UK,” the statement continued.

A total of 575 people are being monitored for coming into contact with the 24 confirmed cases.

“One (1) of the contacts developed symptoms and has been confirmed positive,” the statement explained.

All the other twenty-three (23) confirmed cases are being managed in isolation and are doing well on treatment.
