KNUST Debunks ‘Fake’ Coronavirus Reported Case

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has debunked reports that the institution has recorded a coronavirus case.

According to a statement issued by the KNUST Relations Officer Dr Daniel Norris Bekoe, the news about a student of the university contracting the virus is fake.

It is reported on social media that “a KNUST student by the name Musah Sule accompanied a friend to the University Hospital on 17th Match 2020 due to a severe headache,” but “absconded from the hospital after his friend tested positive for COVID-19 due to panic.”

“A comprehensive check from the University Hospital, however, revealed that the claim is fake and has no merit,” the university stated.

“The team wishes to assure the general public that there is NO reported case of COVID-19 neither at the University’s hospital nor the campus by any member of the University Community,” they added.
