The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has closed its offices due to the daily rise of coronavirus cases in the country.

According to a statement released the communications team of the GFA, this is part of the precautionary measures being undertaken by the Executive Council of the GFA to curb the spread of the pandemic.

“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has closed its offices until further notice because of Coronavirus concerns,” the statement read.

The FA advised its members including clubs and regional associations to “use the online systems of the GFA to communicate with the Secretariat until the offices reopen.”

The GFA also advised clubs “that are still engaging in training to desist with immediate effect and fully respect the directive from President Akufo-Addo.”

The President in an address to the nation on 15th March 2020, issued a ban on all public gatherings and also advised Ghanaians to strictly observe self-distancing.

Ghana has so far confirmed 16 coronavirus cases.
