Ghana Health Service has confirmed 5 new cases, taking Ghana’s total cases to 16.
According to the Ghana Health Service, all the five cases were reported from the Greater Accra Region, however, three of the five cases have no travel history. The five new were confirmed cases on 19th March 2020.
All samples were confirmed positive in the laboratory.
Below are details of the confirmed cases:
The first case is a 29-year-old Ghanaian lady who is a resident of Accra who has no history of travel.
The other case is a 34-year-old Ghanaian lady who is a resident of Accra who came into contact with a confirmed case at her place of work.
The thirds case is a 53-year-old Ghanaian male who is a resident of Tema with no history of travel and no evidence of close contact with any confirmed case.
The fourth case is a 41-year-old Ghanaian male who arrived in Ghana by KLM on 15th March 2020. He indicated exposure with family members in Amsterdam exhibiting respiratory symptoms and also on the flight with some passengers sneezing and coughing.
The final case is a 36-year-old Ghanaian male who is a resident of Paris, France. The date of his arrival in Ghana is unconfirmed. There is no evidence of contact with an infected person.
