This morning, we reported that two new cases of the coronavirus infection were confirmed in Ghana.
This brings the count to a total of 9 confirmed cases.
It is important to note that the last two cases are both imported cases – meaning all nine cases we currently have in the country are imported.
A statement from the Ghana Health Service said it confirmed the two cases yesterday from the Greater Accra Region.
One is a 56-year-old Ghanaian man who travelled back to Accra from a trip to the UK about a week ago.
The other is a 33-year-old Ghanaian, who returned to Accra from a conference in UAE. Both cases are receiving treatment in isolation.
Currently, there is no recorded death; all nine (9) confirmed COVID-19 cases are being managed in isolation and are responding well to treatment.
