In the wake of the frequent rise of coronavirus cases in Ghana, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration have suspended passport services.
According to the Ministry, this action was taken in line with the government’s directives to prevent the spread of the virus.
“In keeping with government’s directives to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration (MFA&RI) has suspended Passport Services at ALL Passport Application Centres (PACs) with immediate effect,” the statement read.
“Applicants will not be admitted for vetting and capture procedures and also for the collection of processed passports,” they added.
The Ministry went on to inform that “all PACs will remain closed for the next two weeks or until such a time that the situation would be sufficiently safe for opening.”
