This afternoon, a new case of coronavirus infection was recorded in Ghana bringing the total to 7 cases.
Key procedure after confirmation of a case is the contact tracing of persons the victims might have come into contact with, who could, in theory, be infected.
According to the Ghana Health Service, it has so far been able to trace 350 people who are being monitored.
Two people out of the 350 people “who developed symptoms, had their samples tested but they came out to be negative,” the Ghana Health Service statement said.
“Currently, there is no death and all the seven (7) confirmed COVID-19 cases are being managed in isolation and are in stable condition,” the statement added.
However, as at 3 pm today, “a total of 143 suspected cases have been tested for COVID-19 by Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) and Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR).”
It is out of this 143 suspected cases that we have 7 confirmed cases.
