Just after the Government of Ghana confirmed that four new cases of coronavirus had been recorded in the country, the University of Ghana also intensified its preventive measures.

The vice-chancellor of the university, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu also announced that the university would be suspending lectures immediately.

He also asked residential students to stay on campus while non-residential students stay at home.

Immediately after Prof Owusu made the announcements, University of Ghana students were excited and they started jubilating.

Ignoring calls of social distancing, the students started singing and dancing, excited that the suspension of lectures also means the suspension of the mid-semester exams.
