Students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have launched an online campaign to get the university’s authorities to cancel their impending mid-semester exam.
The students want the mid-semester exams cancelled because of growing fears surrounding the novel coronavirus called COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, two imported cases have been confirmed in Ghana and the patients are said to be in quarantine.
When the infection was confirmed in Ghana, the health authorities advised Ghanaians to practise personal hygiene and also practise social distancing.
Social distancing is when one avoids crowded places so that one does not come into bodily contact with others.
The students, who are afraid for their lives are asking the university to reconsider its decision to start the mid-semester exams tomorrow.

It is unclear whether the university will yield to the demands of the students.
The university has already announced measures they are taking as coronavirus preventive measures.
