President Akufo-Addo, today, extended his sympathy and condolences to the families of the people who perished in Monday’s horrific accident on the Kintampo-Tamale Highway.
“May their souls Rest In Peace. I also wish the injured a speedy recovery,” the president said in a Twitter post.
It’s right for Nana Akufo-Addo to do this as the president of Ghana, but musician Worlasi thinks it’s unnecessary for the president to show his sympathy after failing the people of Ghana.
According to Worlasi, the people who died in the accident could have been saved if the president had not delayed the construction of roads for his election campaign.
“You could have saved them BUT rather, after their painful deaths, you share your sympathy #fearGod we are human beings stop playing us,” he said.
Worlasi’s tweet received some mixed reactions. While some agreed with him, others felt he was not right.
“Say ahm again worla this Ghana hmmm We for sell den share the money ooo,” one Twitter user said.
“Was the cause of the accident bad road or poor driving? We need to ascertain the truth so everyone in the chain will take responsibility for their inactions. We can’t always conclude on bad roads as the cause of our accidents when obviously some of these are from poor driving,” another Twitter user said.
