UDS Beats UCC To Win The 2020 Graphic Tertiary Business Sense Challenge

The University for Development Studies defeated the University of Cape Coast to win the second edition of the Graphic Tertiary Business Sense Challenge.

UUC, who are the defending champions lost their title to UDS after the final contest ended 55.5 to 46.5 in favour of UDS.

Journey to the finals

UCC The defending champions, UCC made their maiden appearance in the contest at the final stage two contest for the quarter-finals competing against Kumasi Technical University (KTU). UCC managed to book their slot to the quarter finals with 66 points while KTU managed to score 25 points.

After securing their place in the quarter finals, they had the chance to meet the UDS and went ahead to beat them to progress to the semi-finals. At the end of the contest, UCC scored 72.33 points while UDS pulled 59 points.

The first semi-final contest was between the KNUST, and the UCC. In what turned out to be a heated clash, the KNUST could not realise its dream of making it to the final stage as it scored 55.5 points while UCC won the day with 66 points.

After booking their semi-final place, the UCC lived up to its reputation as the defending champions and managed to secure their place in the finals after beating the KNUST. Although it was not an easy contest, the UCC managed to beat the KNUST with 66 points and progressed to the finals of the TBSC.

UDS The students from the Upper West Region came into the competition with a dream to secure their position at the finals.

The journey, however, was not an easy one as they had to struggle their way through to make it to the finals of the contest.

The UDS was able to beat the GTUC in the stage two contest with 54 points to secure their place in the quarter-finals. GTUC exited the TBSC at this stage with 33 points.

After losing during the quarter-final contest against the UCC, the school had the opportunity to come back into the semi-finals after becoming the losing school with the highest score.

At the semi-finals, the UDS put up a spirited performance against the UEW and managed to beat them to secure their slot at the finals. At the end of the contest, UDS won by accruing 65 points while UEW ended the contest with 53 points booking their place to face the UCC at the finals.

Tertiary institutions that took part in the 2020 contest include the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), All Nations University College, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi Technical University (KTU) and the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The rest are the University for Development Studies (UDS), Bluecrest University College, Wisconsin University College (WUC), Radford University (RU), Methodist University College (MUC), Accra Institute of Technology (AIT), Ghana Technology University College (GTUC), African University College of Communications (AUCC), Central University College (CUC), Accra Technical University (ATU) and the University of Education, Winneba (UEW)
