Deviant Art is firstly a website where artists can share and browse through the content of other artists. These drawings can then be put on sale to anyone who wants to buy them. The drawings on your page double as a portfolio for anyone that might want to hire you for a commission.
Deviant Art is a community of artists. It has it’s own in-site currency that can be used to purchase perks on the site. Items on the site can also be bought with real money. It can be daunting to try and make money off of deviant art. There is a lot of work on the site by good artists. That’s no reason not to upload your work. Every artist’s style is distinct and someone might just fall in love with your work. Deviant art has over 48 million users. It is also free to join, so there’s really no reason why your work shouldn’t be on there.
Art is a great hobby, or outlet on the side, but that’s absolutely no reason not to market it. If you’re pursuing your art professionally that’s even more reason to make some extra cash from it. Did I mention that you can do all this from the comfort of your home.
