Otumfuo Osei Tutu Ghana Independence Day

Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region is the host city for the 63rd Independence Day celebration. The initiative to take the Independence Day celebration to other Regions was started by the Nana Akufo-Addo led administration. Last year’s Independence Day celebration took place in Tamale.

Since this year’s Independence Day celebration is being celebrated in Kumasi, the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was specially invited to grace the occasion, and he did it in grand style.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II arrived in the Baba Yara Sports stadium (where the commemoration is being held) with a convoy that was accompanied by drumming and dancing.

The Asantehene’s arrival was very iconic and has generated a lot of buzz on social media.
