Shatta Wale Denies Claims That His Beefs Make Him Relevant

Shatta Wale is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter and leader of the Shatta Movement Empire

The self-proclaimed King of Dancehall, Shatta Wale has denied claims that his popularity and career is dependant on him starting beefs with fellow musicians.

Shatta Wale has had his fair share of celebrity fights. They include Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Samini, Yaa Pono among others.

However, he claims that he actually makes more money when he is not beefing with anyone.

In an interview on Onua FM he said his career flourishes without beefs.

“Why do people think that [if I don’t beef] I can’t make money,” he quizzed and added that, “people shouldn’t see me that if there is no beef I can’t survive.”

The dancehall act noted that his beef with Samini, for example, “was one of the greatest beefs I have had in my life” but Samini did not see the business side of it.

Shatta Wale lamented that “we are fighting ourselves every time…we are always fighting for titles and positions.”

He further stressed that fighting for titles is not helping the industry grow.
