Come December 7 this year, the award-winning actor turned politician, John Dumelo will represent the NDC in the parliamentary election for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

John Dumelo will be going against Lydia Alhassan of the NPP and the current Member of Parliament for the constituency.

Right from the primaries, John Dumelo has been engaging in door to door campaigns.

He has shared chocolates, maths sets, bought lunch and paid school fees for students of the University of Ghana and done a lot of other things.

As a politician and a shrewd one at that, John Dumelo has pulled off a lot of the old campaign tricks in the hopes that they would endear him to the voters.

Here are just six ordinary but not so ordinary things John Dumelo has done on his parliamentary campaign trial.

  1. He has pushed trucks and participated in clean up exercises

In October last year, the politician joined residents of Mempasem to clean their gutters and weed bushy parts of their neighbourhood.

John Dumelo became the truck pusher who dragged the vehicle to dispose of the waste gathered.
