Black Stars head coach, C.K Akonnor yesterday named his first squad since his appointment.
The 23-man squad that Akonnor named will face Sudan in a double tie in the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers which will take place later in March.
C.K Akonnor included four Ghana Premier League players in his squad. However, some regular Black Stars players failed to make it to his squad. One of those players is John Boye.
During a press briefing at Alisa Hotel yesterday, C.K Akonnor was asked by a journalist, why he did not include John Boye in his squad.
His answer was hilarious and got everyone in the room laughing.
As the journalist tried to make a case for why John Boye should have been included in the squad, C.K Akonnor asked:
“Charley you wild oh… Why, John Boye is your brother eh?”.
“Or he is your brother-in-law,” C.K added.

C.K Akonnor, however, assured the absentees that they are not totally out of contention for places in future teams.
“I have to be fair to those who are not here and say that, I will have to give them all chances to play. Of course, there are other qualifying matches, friendly games and all that.
“We will have to factor these things in our plans and make sure that we those are unknown and those who used to play but have not had the chance to feature again.
“It is why I went to speak to Jeffrey Schlupp and see why he was not featuring for the team and explained the situation to me as we had an open discussion. We will consider all these things and make sure that the national team is based on quality and quantity,” C.K Akonnor said.
Ghana will face Sudan in Cape Coast on March 27 with the return leg coming off in Sudan on March 30.
