Akwasi Frimpong, the Ghanaian Olympian who made history as being the first Ghanaian to represent the country on the Skeleton sport discipline has just won his first race.
He won the race during the 2020 USA Western Regionals competition in Utah.
Skeleton is a winter sliding sport in which a person rides a small sled, known as a skeleton bobsled, down a frozen track while lying face down and head-first.
Excited Akwasi Frimpong sent a tweet to announce his historic win.
“Made history for #Ghana Flag of Ghana winning my first international skeleton race during the 2020 USA Western Regionals in ParkCity, Utah,” he tweeted.
Akwasi has been getting better on the sled since he met his coach Zach Lund.
