Okyeame Kwame has demanded the withdrawal of some defamatory statements that were made against him by Ghanaian high-life legend Gyedu-Blay Ambolley.
According to a notice by lawyers of Okyeame Kwame, Ambolley made some defamatory statements against their client during an interview on TV3.
“During the said interview, you alleged that our client was given Ghc 50,000 by the President of MUSIGA at the time as a loan and which money our client did not repay,” the notice read.
“Sir, we have the instructions of our client to inform you that your statements are false and a little due diligence on your side would have revealed the untruth in your statement,” the notice further added.
The lawyers of Okyeame Kwame went on to state that the statements of Ambolley has put their client in a “bad light and lowered his images in the minds of right meaning Ghanaians.”
“…To suggest that our client was part of a scheme to steal from MUSIGA is an allegation that our client not countenace,” Okyeame Kwame’s lawyers vehemently stated.
They, therefore, asked that Mr Ambolly withdraw the defamatory statements that he made against their client using the same medium that he used to make the statements within 72 hours of receipt of the letter. However, if Ambolley fails to oblige their request, “we will not hesitate to proceed to court to seek legal redress against you for your tortious actions,” they warned.
