Huawei has now unveiled a new 5G version of the MatePad Pro, a tablet that it launched earlier last year in the Chinese market in hopes of competing against the iPad Pro.
Aside from now supporting 5G, the 10.8-inch tablet also comes with a sizeable list of desirable features that makes it a worthy opponent of Apple’s counterpart. First and perhaps most impressively, Huawei says the new device is the first-ever tablet to support both wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, at speeds of 27W and 7.5W respectively. Aside from the usual smartphones or headphones, it can also charge its keyboard case wireless, although note that much like other similar gadgets out there, it can only wirelessly reverse charge one item at a time.
The MatePad Pro also supports stylus usage — dubbed the M-Pencil — boasts a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio which provides a much larger image than the iPad at resolutions of 2,560 x 1,600, and holds a 7,250 mAh battery. It even features screen mirroring with other EMUI devices, allowing you to connect the tablet with your phone or laptop.
