#VGMAIsABigScam: Shatta Movement Starts Campaign Against CharterHouse

Shatta Wale is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter and leader of the Shatta Movement Empire

The hashtag #VGMAisaBigScam is trending on Twitter. The hashtag was started by fans of the Shatta Movement who are unhappy with the treated meted out to Shatta Wale by the CharterHouse.

This comes after Charterhouse CEO, Theresa Ayoade, in a press conference urged the media to help the music industry rise above Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy. “The industry is bigger than these two artistes and that what I want you to go back with. There are lots of young people who need the opportunity so let’s move on” she said at a press conference.

After her comments, Shatta Wale took to social media to express his displeasure at what she said. He later released a diss song targeted at the organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Shatta Wale in the song lashed out at CharterHouse and made a claim that the organisers of VGMA take money from other Ghanaian musicians to award them. He labelled the award scheme as a scam.

Today, the fans of Shatta Wale started the campaign to also express their displeasure at the actions taken by CharterHouse.

Shatta Wale has released a new song targeted at the organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Charterhouse.
